I love cats. I had 5 until this morning. I took 2 of them to the Vet to be shaved. Bobby and Fluffy. Both about 8 yrs old. They were liter sisters. The Vet I take my cats to offers a shaving/bathing service. It has been extremely hot here. I have a pet door.My cats go in and out. But at night they stay inside. For days Bobby has acted different. She was a very shy cat. A fraidy cat too. Scared of her shadow so to speak. But for the last week she has stayed very close to me and I found that as unsuaul behavior for her, even a bit strange. I felt of her nose and she never felt hot. She did not appear sick in any way what so ever. After dropping both of them off at the Vet I returned home. The phone rang. It was the Vet's office saying that Bobby had just died. I stood there and held the phone speechless. Not believing what I just heard. What happened I asked. The nurse said that as soon as they took her out of the pet carrier she was vomiting and acted like she couldn't breath. The Vet said she had fluid in her lungs and wanted to know if I had a/c in my car and home. Of course I do was my reply! They said it's a classic symptom of a cat that got too hot. I said that is not the case. Bobby was extremely shy and the worst scardie cat I have ever seen. When I had company she would go someplace to hide until she knew the coast was clear for her to come out. But for days Bobby has been hanging around me in a most unusual way. Honestly, I was beginning to think that something was going to happen to me. I have heard that sometimes cats have ESP. Whether or not she was trying to tell me something I don't know. But I do know her behavior was a complete turn around from the norm for her. I am saddened over the loss of this cat.
Bobby, you were loved. And I will miss you. Just in case there is a cat heaven I know you are there. Here's to you my little furry friend.
