Entering the dining room Miriam looked terrific Bob couldn’t take his eyes off her he stood there with his mouth wide-open gaping at her. She looked exquisite dressed in a flowing deep cherry red organdy and silk gown which clung to the upper part of her body.On her ears two large gold& diamond ear-rings (they had once belonged to her African Grandmother.) on her left wrist a thick gold bangle unusually designed end embossed with tiny pearls,diamonds and semi precious stones of every hue (this had belonged to her Spanish Grandmother) and she always made a point of wearing them on special occasions and what was more special than to-night. Her make up was perfect in all she looked the picture of décor and elegance. To Bob she was good enough to eat so they left to celebrate and take in a late night show. Waiting like Cinderella’s carriage was a limo, which Bob had ordered secretly. They had a wonderful evening and Bob presented her with a diamond engagement ring, "Darling it is official now, You are Mine" and kissed her passionately yet gently.
They lived in a large flat in the Kensington area shared all expenses, Miriam wouldn’t hear of anything else. Earning good salaries they could afford to live well.Bob did extra work and that helped and she earned an excellent salary she also did private recitals.
