This is the first house with a yard I've ever owned or lived in since I moved away from my parents many, many years ago, thus, my first landscaping project. The yard in the picture is my first attempt at creating a backyard oasis for myself. This was all done last summer, except for the center plot, it was created a few summers ago but enlarged this past summer. I had my yard care guys rototill the perimeter of my back yard and half of my front, then I went to work cleaning it up, digging, raking, leveling, hauling dirt, laying weed barrier, planting and mulching. I have tons more I want to do but the base is done so a little more will come each summer. I plan on laying a flagstone patio next season, hopefully, planting more flowers and ornamental grasses, I just love those and eventually turning it into a beautiful, private retreat.
Even though it’s winter, mild here for the 2nd year in a row, and all of the plants are dead, I still enjoy looking out the window or walking the back yard daily, at least all the ornamental grasses look great in the fall and winter.
Can’t wait to get back out there and have my evening walk around the yard with my cat, she and I’d have an evening walk around every evening when I got home from work.
