Tomorrow, I'm off to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital for my double knee replacement surgery. I've put it off as long as possible, but I need to walk again! After the hospital, I'll be in rehab for a while, either there or elsewhere. I won't be home for a while, since I have no one here to take care of me. Fortunately, my brother will be coming in from Utah to stay in my condo and take care of things for about a week. A few friends have stepped up to help, too. It's at times like this that I appreciate the value of family and friends. My column should keep appearing here on eGenerations as usual; I've submitted three columns in advance. I hope to be back to tell you more about the healing power of writing. In the meantime, keep writing yourselves. If you need encouragement, go back to the column arcfhives. Wish me luck! I'll be back on line as soon as I have computer access again. Marlys |
