A New Job

I am either very brave or very crazy and there are people who will agree with the last one. You see, my life isn’t normal. I guess since it’s my life, that makes sense.

This is the second time I have gotten a job I didn’t apply for. I remember the first time it happened. I t was after a family crises and I had gone to stay with a friend of mine and her husband. She had told a friend of hers that I was coming that just happened to own a nursing home and was so short of nurses that the wife had to work night shift several nights a week as well as run the business.

I was at Linda just a few minutes when the phone rang. It was a guy named John. I didn’t know a man named John, but I talked to him. He said he needed me and if I didn’t know what he wanted me to do, he would show me... He said he needed me ASAP. He wants to orientate me that night.

I agreed to meet him and I spent the night with John. The next morning he was very happy and I pleased his wife too. He handed me a set of keys to the place and told me I could stay if I wanted too. I wasn’t too sure about that.

This was one time I had gotten a job I didn’t apply for. I got it after I spent the night with a JOHN, going from bed to bed doing whatever I could to make my clients happy. I eased their pain, I helped them relax and met their needs the best I could. I left them satisfied. Of course by morning I was exhausted and John was very happy.

Everyone has always told me I was a good nurse.
