A relaxing day--thank goodness!

The weather sure is strange sometimes--today, with the sun shining, no rain, no signs of rain, the cable went out and the electricity started blinking off and on.  I immediately turned off the computer, but nothing else happened--thank goodness.  The cable stayed off until just a few minutes ago (it was off several hours), and things are back to normal--I guess.  Anyway, we were not expecting that, but we dealt with it.

When I got up this morning, Sid had baked some delicious biscuits--not those store-bought, canned things that my dear little sister loves, but some REAL biscuits.  (Sorry Sandie!)  We ate that with some coffee--I hadn't done that in a while, so I really enjoyed it.  Then, we decided to have lunch at Louisiana Bayou Bistro, a place near Brusly High School that has a buffet on the weekend.  We called just to make sure, of course, 'cuz it takes about 45 minutes to get there.  The buffet was being served, so we went there.

This is an unusual place--the front part (or is it the back part?) is a regular restaurant, where people just order from a menu.  The back part (or is it the front part?) is where the buffet is served.  No matter which part you're in, the food is very good.  Today, they had shrimp fettuccini, fried shrimp, a couple of kinds of stews/rice, baked chicken, corn, creamed potatoes, green beans, and other things I can't remember; they also had salad items and desserts.  Our waitress "did her job" OK, but she was not overly friendly, and you know how I feel about that.  She did keep tabs on us, though, and was ready to refill our drinks as needed.  The food that we each selected was very good, but we noticed AFTER we were done that the price had gone up.  Thank goodness for the Liberty Card--for those who don't know what that is, it's a card that gives discounts on various items at various restaurants; it is purchased from students at the school as a money-raising project and is well worth the cost----

While in that area, we decided to stop at the Super WalMart to get a couple of items that I needed, one of which was picture frames.  Of course, as we walked through the store, Randi got a couple of things and I completely forgot about the frames.  NBD (no big deal), though, 'cuz there was a Dollar Tree right next door and I was able to get my frames there--and a lot cheaper!

When we got home and unloaded the car, I decided to take an early shower.  However, I also wanted to take a ride on the 4-wheeler today, so I made sure that I wore my boots to keep from getting splashed with mud.  Because I had just taken my shower, I drove a little more slowly.  Sid also took Randi for a ride as well.

Now, it's time for supper, and I have no idea what we'll eat.  I think that tonight will be a "pot luck" night--eat whatever you can find.  Randi is now old enough to be able to do that, and I think she already found something.  Yay for Randi!  Now, Sid and I have to do the same thing.

Have a great evening and a terrific week!

NOTE:  Well, now--ain't that the truth!  Let's just make up our minds to improve our attitudes, think more positively, see the good in all things, be a believer--we will get so much "better" that people might not even recognize us.
