And the rains came again--

Don't have too much to chat about tonight, but figured I'd send out a little bit of news before we head off to Lockport tomorrow.  Hopefully, we'll be back here tomorrow evening, but I doubt I'll feel much like sitting at the computer.

Sid pretty much finished up with the cement part of filling up that hole in our yard.  The dirt has been ordered and was set for delivery when the rains came.  We're hoping to have it delivered on Saturday morning, and the man from whom we're buying the dirt is most accommodating--he will dump some at the hole on Weze's property, some in the hole we have near the carport, and the rest in the area of the trailer where Sid will level it off  at some point in the near future (hopefully).

Since he didn't get the dirt delivered today, Sid decided that he might be able to do a little mowing.  Silly, Sid--the newly-repaired mower would not start--AGAIN!  He called the repairman and they'll pick it up tomorrow while we're in Lockport.  This is really getting to be ridiculous! Sid told him that perhaps they needed to get the guy from the main office of this mower to check it out, but who knows what they'll do.  They said that they had tried the mower at their shop, left it alone for several hours, tried it again, left it over-night, and tried it again in the morning--it started every time.  Sid mowed here at the Cottage on the day we got it back for about ten minutes, put it in the barn, tried to start it this afternoon--NOTHING!  We shall see what we shall see!

While we were outside yesterday, a truck pulled into our yard and this guy came out to talk with us.  As soon as he started talking, I knew this was a salesman, and he was selling meat.  I had a problem with that from the beginning, but he actually showed us some packages of meat, frozen solid.  Sid thought we should try one box of the rib eyes, so we got that, and the man gave us a brochure indicating the prices of various types of meat with a guarantee that these prices would be ours for at least the rest of the year should we decide to buy more.  I went on the Internet and found that this company is legit, so....

Tonight, I cooked three of the rib eyes for Sid, Randi, and me.  They were delicious and so tender.  It looks like they might possibly have a new customer.  We'll probably try them again before too long to see if this was just a lucky hit or not, but it sure was nice to have this meat tonight, and it didn't take long to cook.  Those rib eyes with some peas and a salad--YUMMY!

Tomorrow, we'll be heading to Lockport for the day.  Mom's appointment is at 2:50pm, but we're leaving in time to have lunch with Jess and check out her wedding album.  I'm sure there are pictures there that we'll want to order, and we didn't want to wait too long to do that.  Of course, I have a lot of the pictures already--the ones I took at the wedding--but there are some family groupings that I wasn't able to get, so I'm anxious to see those.

Randi will be returning home tomorrow and will probably stay for a couple of weeks or so.  Hopefully, the rain won't be as much as predicted (60% on Friday) and we'll have an easy trip.  Prayers for a safe visit would be appreciated.

That's it for tonight!  Have a wonderful evening and a fantastic Friday.
