Although we didn't do much today, Sandie and I are still enjoying our visit--well, I know I am anyway! We've had a change of plans, though, and she will be leaving tomorrow so she can spend some quality time with Ben, just in case his decision to enlist happens sooner than expected. We'll all head over to BR to meet up with her daughter, Kate, and Kate's husband, Jeremiah--guess where we'll meet! You're right--we'll meet at DON's. I think Kate feels like she knows the place because of reading about it here--and that's a good thing. Sandie and I went to W/M this morning to pick up some Advil (I was totally out of it) and a couple of other items. Of course, I was already paying for my stuff when Sandie reminded me that we had forgotten the Advil--that's what we went for, but I forgot. Oh, well--we took care of that right away and were soon back at the Cottage. Dinner today consisted of left-overs from Morel's the other day and some chicken that Sandie still had left. Tonight, she cooked a little spaghetti sauce and I prepared the pasta. Everything was delicious, I must admit, and even Sid enjoyed it (he's not a big pasta fan, but he did eat and seemed to enjoy what he had). Sid went to his school today to get some info about his schedule and when school would begin. The first day, at least for the teachers, is on August 5th. He will be teaching an Honors Algebra 1, an Honors Algebra 2, a regular Algebra 2, an Honors Advanced Math, a regular Advanced Math, and a regular Calculus--whew! He will have four preparations to do, but that's not too difficult for him. I hope that he'll enjoy this year as much as he did last. Our carport is continuing to near completion. Today, he put up some of the siding on the gable, hoping to do more tomorrow. Of course, he'll have a little delay because of our trip to BR, but he needs a rest anyway, so that's good. Parking in there has been a true blessing these past few days--getting into the car after it's been parked is much nicer when it's been in the shade all day. No more having to deal with a scorching steering wheel. Sandie has helped so much with our computers while she's been here. Sid's computer is all ready for him to use this school year. Now, I have two computers from which I can print pictures, and that's what I was doing yesterday. Having to print so many pictures, I was able to do it in much less time by printing some on my computer and some on Sid's at the same time. That was great! That's it for today! Hope you had a good day and that the weekend finds you enjoying your families. HEARTFELT BLESSING: "Life goes by rapidly. Don't delay. Don't put off. Don't wait until you have some spare time. Don't wait until the time's 'right'." --Ken Keyes NOTE: Do you know when you're going to die? I think not. But, if you did, what would you do with the rest of your life? I know what I'd do--I'd check out everything around me with new eyes, I'd give thanks for all that I have in my life, I make sure that those I love REALLY knew that I loved them, I'd do something I've wanted to do but never took the time to do (haven't thought of that thing just yet). In other words, I would truly live in my time left. So, why wait? Live your life fully--and that way, should you find out how long you have left to live, you won't have to rush out to do things--your life will already be full! |
