Trip to the doctor--again!

Another day, another bout with the electricity going out.  Don't know what's happening, but two days in a row is extremely unusual--and the weather wasn't even bad or anything like that.  Oh, well--it's back on now, so....

This morning, I was greeted by Randi telling me that we had to go to the BACH clinic.  HUH?  WHY?  Well, Folks, it seems that her earring, somehow, someway, went totally into the hole where the post belongs and she couldn't get it out.  I could see some redness there, and I didn't want to take a chance on an infection setting in, so....  Called our regular doctor, but as usual, she couldn't see her; she did suggest we call the doctor who was "on call" to take her over-flow patients.  We did that, and were extremely pleased with their response.

This other doctor's staff was outstanding.  They listened patiently to the problem; spoke with a nurse; let me speak with the nurse; told me what to do so that they could see her (get a referral from her family doctor at home), and I did that (my old friends at Family Doctor Clinic came to the rescue again--thanks, Eurella) and got the referral.  We went to the office for our 2:45 appointment a little early in order to fill out all the paperwork.  We were taken into the office BEFORE the scheduled time.

The nurses that did her assessment were so patient and kind.  The doctor came in, checked her ear, and said what he would be doing.  We were moved to another little room where he deadened the lobe and removed the earring.  He thought he might have to make a small incision, but as it happened, he didn't.  So, Randi has no earring STUCK in there and no stitches either.  All-in-all, an excellent remedy for our problem.

We stopped to pick up cold drinks at DQ, most of which I gave to Sid when we got home.  He was busily working on the carport and has progressed very well.  He'll finish the joists tomorrow and will begin putting up the stripping.  The roofing metal is supposed to be delivered tomorrow.  Yay!  Can't wait to see that.  We got a color to match the siding of the Cottage, sort of an ivory color.  Hope we made a good choice.

Last night, Sid and I remembered that we had gotten some ground meat, green onion sausage, and some chicken fillets a few days ago.  Since we didn't want to freeze that meat and we also didn't want it to "go bad" on us, I decided to cook everything this morning.  And that's what I did.

Randi ate sausage for lunch and sausage/hot dogs (that's what SHE wanted) for supper; Sid ate sausage for dinner and ground meat for supper; I ate my Veggie Delight sandwich for dinner and my ham/cheese sandwich for supper, both meals adding a little bit of ground meat.  He and I also ate some of our own, fresh-from-the-garden cucumbers with a tomato (not our own--YET!).  Pretty good meals, I must say!

Wedding day is getting close--we leave here on Friday morning for the wedding on Friday evening.  Can't wait!  I haven't spoken with Jess today, but Lance was supposed to finish the sale of his home and finish the purchasing of their new family home--all of that today!  Hope all went well in both cases!

Last night, Jess called and said that Channie had had a little accident at a furniture store.  They were looking (not buying yet) at beds for Channie's new room, and a headboard fell on her little body.  Apparently, she wasn't hurt, but she did become the darling of the store afterwards--but that's nothing new.  Glad that worked out OK, too.

Mom is still trying to get out of going to the wedding, but unless she's really ill, she WILL be there.  Sid and I assured her that we will tend to her getting there and back, so she has no excuse.  Oh, I'm sure she'll try again, but she'll fail--unless, of course, she really is sick, and we surely don't want that.

Sid will return home on Saturday, but I'll be staying for a few days so I can bring Mom to her doctor's appointment on Tuesday.  I also have a couple of appointments to tend to as well.  Then, Sandie is coming here for her visit.  Yay!  I'm excited, and I hope she is, too.  I'm sure her family will miss her, but.....

That's it for tonight!  Hope you had a good day and that this evening finds you sitting in front of your tv and just relaxing.

HEARTFELT BLESSING:  "If you do a good job for others, you heal yourself at the same time because a dose of joy is a spiritual cure.  It transcends all barriers."                                --Ed Sullivan

NOTE:  It's been said before, but nothing makes you feel as good as doing something for someone else.  They're happier; you're happier.  And love----nothing makes us feel more loved than giving love to others.  Strange, huh?  Just remember that you are loved, and give back what you receive.
