NO ELECTRICITY LAST NIGHT!

What a day we had yesterday!  It started off with Sid working, of course, but Randi and I had a more enjoyable day--for the most part.

We headed out to BR to see a movie at the RAVE theater near the Mall of Louisiana.  We saw KITT KITTREDGE, An American Girl story.  This was set during the Depression, so there were some sad parts; but it was a typical story from the American Girl series and had funny parts, too.  Both of us really enjoyed the movie, and there were actually quite a few adults in the theater besides us this time.  We hadn't been to a movie in a while, so this was really nice.

After the movie, we stopped at CONN's, a store that sells electronics, looking for web cams--didn't have any, but suggested CIRCUIT CITY which was located just a few doors down.  We went there and found just what we were looking for.  This was our birthday gift to Randi--she had mentioned wanting that, and we always have a hard time figuring out what to get, so that was perfect.  We have them installed and have even used them already, getting to see Josh, Cam, and Brynn during our first use.  That was a most welcome surprise!

Our next stop--PICCADILLY.  That, too, is something Randi and I usually do when she comes, but we haven't had time to do that recently, so we had decided before leaving that we would have lunch there.  As usual, the service was excellent--and the food was as well.  I had a large fillet of fish to bring home, and Randi ate that (with a side of peas) for her supper last night.

Not long after we returned, a couple of friends stopped by to see what Sid was doing; later on, Bess and Nathan stopped by.  Obviously, Sid couldn't work while visiting, so his day was cut quite short.  That's OK, though, 'cuz it gave him time to relax before coming in for the night.

Just as I was getting ready to type my journal entry, I noticed that I was having that problem I had a while back w/re having the "entry" page come up for my journal.  I was about to get upset, having already written to the journals editor, when the electricity went off in the house.  Don't know what happened, but here in the country, when the electricity goes off, it is REALLY BLACK outside.  It was out for almost two hours, but just as we were ready for bed, on it came.  Still don't know what happened, but the weather was just fine, so there must have been some kind of accident in the area.

One good thing was that I didn't lose my journal entry because I didn't have one in.  Guess there's some good in even bad happenings at times.

This morning, Randi and I went to STAGE to see if we could find something to wear for Jess and Lance's wedding on Friday--we were both successful.  I know Jess keeps saying that it's informal--and that's fine with me--but I figured I could use this as an excuse to get something new. I HATE SHOPPING, but this was rather painless, and now, we'll all look nice for the pictures.

After we finished shopping, we stopped at SUBWAY to pick up several sandwiches.  We all eat only the 6-inch subs, so we get the foot-long and put the other half in the fridge.  Saves money that way, and we know we'll have something for supper.  This has been working quite nicely.

Sid is out working on the ceiling joists again.  Nathan loaned him a nail gun, which wasn't working the other day, but they played with it last night, and it's doing fine today.  That will save Sid lots of hours of work, and that's very good.

Since I just went out to burn some trash, I am extremely warm.  Guess I'll stop for now and just relax a bit, watching a couple of movies on TV. Have a great day and a relaxing evening.  (My HEARTFELT BLESSING tonight is rather long, but it's too good not to share.)

HEARTFELT BLESSING:  "You are gift-wrapped; unwrap yourself now; let your gifts spill to the floor and all over the world.  Watch how your kindness transforms a cruel world; see how your love heals fear; notice how your courage inspires us all.  Let your smile release this old sad world; give everyone you meet the star in your eye; shine your light; open your heart.  Notice how your peace of mind makes any war more meaningless and harder to fight.  Your happiness is a gift; it attracts angels from afar; your smile is like champagne; your laughter is like love; your healing inspires us; your presence is a miracle; unwrap yourself now."                                                       --Robert Holden

NOTE:  Who am I?  Why am I?  I am a gift to the world, a gift from God, with special talents that I am morally bound to share.  God has blessed me--and I pray that my gifts (and yours) are a blessing to others.
