If I said I was exhausted in a previous post, LOOPY is a better description. We returned from our trip to Texas today, and, after driving from League City to Lockport (approximately 7 hours, including stops), I decided to return to the Cottage (another 2 1/2 hours of driving). Now, I love to drive, but I must admit to being extremely tired after this trip. Jan, Troy, Jess, and Randi were in the lead car, with Randi and I following close behind--too close, according to Jess--LOL. Lance and the boys went to a water park with the rest of the team members, so they arrived home a good bit later than we did. Except for a stop for gas and one for food, we were riding almost the entire time. The trip home was pretty uneventful, and it is great being back in familiar surroundings any time you leave your home grounds. And, of course, I am thrilled to be back at the Cottage. I did get to see Mom for a little while the other day, and I'll be back to see her soon. And, no matter how old I get, I still call her to let her know where we are and when we'll return, so she's up-to-date on that stuff. Sid did a good bit of work around here, including marking out the area for our new car port. I think he even put up a couple of posts, although I was really too tired to check it out closely. He also mowed the front and back yards (yes, they did return the mower with a "loose wire" repaired). He also worked a little in the garden, and we have some small cucumbers and tomatoes getting ready to be eaten. He did find out, though, that instead of regular green peppers, he planted some banana peppers. That's OK, though, 'cuz we like those, too. We spoke with Josh the other day and Brynn's appointment went well. Sutures have been removed and all is well. There may be another small procedure to remove a little more of the lesion that she had, but the news with regard the biopsy was all good--no cancer, no health issues, no problems. Thank you, Lord, for taking care of our little one. I saw a sign today around Brusly saying that school begins on August 8. Can you believe that? I surely can't--well, I guess I can because I know it's true, but it isn't like it was when we were kids. We had three full months of vacation. Of course, we didn't have all the holidays the kids today have, but we had enough, especially considering our summer vacation. Oh, well--what are you gonna do? That's it for tonight! As I said, I'm bushed, so I'm going to try to get some sleep before too long. I just want to make sure that I'm as sleepy as I am tired before hitting the bed. Hope you have a great evening and a super tomorrow. "For every hope that you entertain, you have a task you must perform. For every good you wish to preserve, you will have to sacrifice your comfort and your ease. There is nothing for nothing any longer." --Walter Lippmann NOTE: To me, this is saying that "actions speak louder than words or thoughts"--so get with it! Do you thing! Accomplish great things! |
