The garden is coming along---

My Picture

The garden is getting closer and closer to being fully ready to produce.  Sid is out there right now doing work on the rows and planting more corn.  I wish you could see how the snap beans are doing--they are sprouting out of the ground almost as we watch.  Cucumbers are rising, too, and the tomatoes look really good and are almost ready to be tied.  I envision lots and lots and lots of veggies.

Yesterday, my SIL, Weze, her husband, and one of their grand kids came over for a brief visit, and we sent them home with some of our okra from last year's garden.  We also brought some to our kids and are bringing more tomorrow when Sid heads to Lockport for his dental and eye doctor appointments (no--not the same doctor).  He'll just go for the day unless there's some unexpected delay.

Martha Anne had her knee replacement surgery this morning.  The last word we got from her daughter was that the doctor said she did very well through the surgery, would be in recovery for a couple of hours, and then, they could see her.  We haven't heard anything more since then, but I'm sure we'll get more news tonight.  Please keep her in your prayers.

PT went well today.  I think the exercises were a little more painful today, but I think they're really helping.  In fact, the "head" of the office told me I could try mowing the grass today, provided I only sat on the mower for half-an-hour and didn't go too fast.  Well, part of his instructions wouldn't cause a problem, but that last part---hmmmmm--I like to move a little fast there; however, I did follow his instructions.  I notice a little discomfort in my lower back, but considering that this was my first time on the mower in almost a month, I think things went well.  I really want to be well so I can help Sid with all the yard work around here--mowing is my part of the chores.

This week, Mom has to see her retinal specialist, and Sandie will be tending to that.  I'll be calling her cardiologist to make that appointment for some time in July, but you know how it is--you have to call a couple of months ahead of time for an appointment.  When I take her there, I'll try to make a couple of my regular yearly check-ups scheduled as well.

Randi wrote and said that her birthday meal with her Mom and Dad was great.  She loves eating out, and to be able to be with both her Mom and Dad is always special for her.  Glad she had such a good time.

We have decided to have someone mow the back part of our property as well as the property that we told Weze we would tend to, and we're doing that mainly because of the price of diesel.  This guy has been really good, and he picks up his bales of hay quickly, which is something the guy who was doing it didn't do.  We're not sure, but we think he sells some of the hay and uses the rest for his own cattle.  The orchard and the back area always look so nice when freshly mowed.

Well, that's it for tonight!  Have a great evening and a terrific end-of-the-week.

HEARTFELT BLESSING:  "Remember, every day is election day.  Every day we can choose to put our negative thoughts on a throne and give them the power to rule our kingdom, or not.  And if you have chosen to live with negative thoughts before, if you have lived with tyrants every day of your life, imagine the release you'll experience in living with freedom!"                                   --Ghalil

NOTE:  If the "majority rules" in our civil lives, why not in our personal lives?  Make the choices that bring positivity into your life; get rid of all the negativity.  We make our choices, our decisions EVERY DAY of our lives--so choose wisely.
