Ah, yes, I am frustrated this evening, but at least, it's not because of my computer. I guess I really shouldn't complain because I have been improving rather steadily; however, On Wednesday, it will be four weeks (count them--1, 2, 3, 4) since I first developed this sciatic pain. Believe me when I tell you that it is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better, but it still hurts enough that I cannot do much around the house. Standing at the sink, at the stove, at the washing machine/dryer--these are almost impossible to do. I do that as much as I can, but then, the pain seems to return, so I try to do as little as possible (and mostly, that's because my Honey makes me stop if I do what he considers to be too much). Physical therapy went well today, and I have at least two more scheduled appointments. I don't know what they'll decide after this week, but, if I see improvement happening, I will ask them to continue with PT at least one more week. As you might expect, Sid has been working either in the garden or around the Cottage all day today. He has been working on removing some security straps that were put into the ground to make Mis' Dot's trailer safe. Believe me, only a tornado could have removed those straps without lots of digging, which is what Sid has been doing all day. He finally finished that and then filled the holes with dirt. Right now, he's working in the garden again. Speaking of the garden, it is looking so nice. He told me that some of cucumbers have come out of the ground, the tomatoes look really nice, and the other plants are showing signs of development as well. It just takes so long to get those rows in shape. Today, he planted some okra seeds, so I'm looking forward to that. My sister-in-law, Martha Anne, is having knee replacement surgery in a couple of days. She is having BOTH knees done at the same time, and I ask your prayers for a successful surgery. I had one knee done already, and I can't imagine how difficult it will be to be laid up with BOTH knees being done at the same time! I had an e-mail from Bec this morning and the dance recital went very well. She said that Carly did an excellent job in her dances, which I never doubted would happen for even a moment. She is a very talented young lady--and very smart, too--so learning her dances was not a problem for her, I'm sure. I am waiting for pictures of her in costume so I can share with you. Today is Randi's birthday, as I mentioned last night. She is now 22 years old--unbelievable. She is celebrating with her family tonight by eating out at Olive Garden, one of her favorite places. I know they'll have a great time! Speaking of birthdays, I forgot to mention Carla's birthday, which was on the 31st. Being in Lockport that day and not returning until Sunday afternoon, I guess I didn't check my calendar. Hope she had a wonderful day and a year of all things good. Today is also the birthday of my sister, Silvia's, husband. C.J. remarried after Silvia's death and lives in Mississippi, but I still think of him often and hope he had a good day as well. That's it for this evening! Hope you have great week. HEARTFELT BLESSING: "Remember, happiness doesn't depend upon who you are or what you have. It depends solely upon what you think." --Dale Carnegie NOTE: Think happy--and your world becomes a happier place. If you think happy, you develop an attitude of positive thinking, and that goes a long way to curing many of the ills we have--mental, social, physical, and on, and on, and on--so THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS! |
