Trees planted; Mom's chair is in!

Today was a good day!  (Geez!  That sounds like most days are not good, but that's not quite true.  Most days are good; today was just a little better than some.)  I have a great life, and I really shouldn't complain, so I won't.  I'll just talk about the good stuff that happened today.  OK?

Starting off this morning, Sid went back to BR to return the tiller that we had "borrowed" to check it out.  While at the store, he ordered one for us, which the man said would probably be in by the end of the week IF all went according to schedule.  (I love that he didn't promise that it would be there; he'll call when it arrives, and we'll pick it up then.)  Sid also purchased several things (don't know what you call them) to tie stuff into the bed of the truck when we go to Lockport, like we did this past weekend.  We borrowed some from Troy, so I have them in my car now to return them to him.

While Sid was gone, I finished my sleep for the night in my chair.  Of course, I was disturbed a couple of times by phone calls, but that's OK.  By the time I received the last one (from Jan), it was time to get up, so I did.

Today was tree-planting time--AGAIN!  Sid had planted a few trees yesterday, and he planted 9 more today, with 10 left to plant.  He has gotten eaten up by ants every time he plants, and I think that's why he only did the 9 today--those little things hurt!!!

While he was in back, I was in the Cottage cooking some rib eyes and grilling some onions, with the intention of preparing some other side dish for supper.  Sid called to see if I wanted to eat at DON's tonight because we had a coupon (I had forgotten about that--can you believe it?).  Of course, you know my answer.  I figured we could have the meat tomorrow for dinner or supper, depending on what Sid was doing in the yard at that time.  So, we headed over to DON's around 5:45 or so.

As usual, good service, good food, good price--can't ask for more.  Sid was going to get the small order of fried oysters, but I convinced him to go with the large one.  That way, with my left-over tilapia and his left-over oysters, we could have a little surf/turf dinner tomorrow.  Neat, huh?

Now that we're back home for the night, we can relax.  Tomorrow, according to the new owner of the trailer, they'll be here to finally get the porch moved.  I surely do hope that comes to pass.  Unfortunately, they lost a full day today of beautiful weather.  Once the porch is removed, they can see about getting the trailer moved--and we will be thrilled about that!

MOM'S CHAIR IS IN--and SHE IS IN IT!!!  I received a call this morning letting me know that they would be delivering it around 10am, so I called Mom to make sure she had her door unlocked and was ready to receive her chair.  They got there almost exactly at 10, so that was great.  I had asked Mom to call me when they left, and she did--she said she was sitting in her chair with her legs up, and she sounded excited.  Her legs hurt so much, and having them just hanging down all this time must have been torture for her.  Now, she can watch her sports shows, her soaps, and whatever else she wants and she can do in comfort.

That's it for tonight!  Have a great evening and a wonderful tomorrow.
