Trouble with the computer--again!

My Picture

Last night, I started to write my journal entry; got about three paragraphs along and my computer went down.  Oh, well--I'll try again now.

Randi and I left the Cottage around 9:10 yesterday morning, with no plans for breakfast at Shoney's.  We decided that we would have lunch at Piccadilly's in Houma instead.  Ah, but--the best laid plans....

When we called Jess (who has been very sick for the past several days with bronchitis and ear infections) to see if we could bring her something to eat (she hasn't been eating well of late), she said she didn't want anything from there; however, if we changed our minds and went to OLIVE GARDEN, she'd take something from there.  Now, what is a mother to do????  You know what a mother is to do--we went to OLIVE GARDEN.

Of course, Randi and I enjoy that as well, and we got Jess what she wanted; we also called Bec to see if Randi could bring her something, and she wanted something from there, too.  So, as you can see, not only did WE eat, but we provided food for others.

My next stop was the doctor's office to get checked for that miserable cough I have.  I also wanted to check my knee b/c of the pain I've been having in it lately.  He gave me a shot of celestone in the knee and said it would also help the cough.  Hope he's right.  While there, I got news of several happenings at my old office--two of my former colleagues have married, so I was able to congratulate them.  I also got some very sad news in that the husband of one of my favorite co-workers died on Monday of pancreatic cancer.  He was diagnosed less than a month ago, so he didn't have too much time to suffer.  I was able to go the wake on Wednesday and got to speak with my friend.  She is a very strong woman and faith-filled, so I'm sure she will do just fine.  Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

Yesterday was pretty full--after finishing at the doctor and getting to Jess', Jess and I left to pick up Channie at her "little school" in Houma.  She didn't know I was coming, so she was really excited.  Later, when the boys got home, I took Tyler to W/M to buys gifts for the kindergartners to whom is a "big brother" at school.  We found what he wanted and what Jess needed for Rett and Channie to bring to school as well.

After finishing up there, we went to Lockport to meet Bec and Randi for the tour of her new trailer.  It is really nice, and I'll try to put pics next time or when I get back to the Cottage.

After the tour, Ty and I went to pick up supper at GOAL POST in Raceland.  Supper for me was the juiciest, messiest, most difficult to eat roast beef sandwich in the world--and the most delicious!  It was great!

Today, I went to the Living Way of the Cross program at school.  Rett was one of the narrators, and he did an excellent job.  The kids always seem to reach for the stars when they're put the test--these little 3rd and 4th graders did a super job, "acting" their parts with respect for the situation and for the roles they were playing.  GREAT JOB!

After attending the wake, Randi and I had breakfast at IHOP, and brought back something for Rick.  We stopped there for a few minutes and visited with him before going to visit with Mom.  Afterwards, we went to the trailer to see what Jess and Jan had accomplished there.  They did great!  Lots of stuff put away and things are ready for Bec to get started arranging the way she wants things to be.

While they continued to work, Randi and I went to McD's to get lunch for the two girls.  Shortly afterwards, Bec arrived to see the work her sisters had done for her.  I think she was quite pleased.

Now, I am just waiting until 4pm so I can go to school to pick up Ty and Rett.  That should end my "road work" for today.

Have a great evening and a wonderful tomorrow.  Remember, tomorrow is Holy Thursday, the day Christ instituted the Eucharist (the first Mass) that we Catholic celebrate every day.  These next three days (Triduum) are the most important days of our liturgical year, and they are celebrated with great seriousness and respect.

Because my computer is "acting up" again, I won't take time to find my usual good quotes, but I'll just put one that we all know and which I spoke with Randi about just today:

"Remember to treat others the way you WANT to be treated, not necessarily the way they DO treat you."
