HAPPY ST. PADDY'S DAY! I decided to use this little shamrock because this is the one I "made" for Sid to wear at school today. I figured the kids would probably laugh at it, but what the hey! Nah! They loved it! They even asked him where he got it, so I guess they really did think it was cute--or something. Anyway, hope you had a great day and that you wore enough green to avoid the pinches that come from denying the "wearing of the green" on this special day.
It was another beautiful day today, sunshine and mild temps, at least for a while. Then, the sun remained, the wind increased, and the temps rose to the mid-80's. Whew! What can we look forward to during the summer if this is what we get now!
In a couple of days, our grandson, Ryan, will reach his 12th birthday. On the 24th, his big brother, Ashton, will reach his 14th birthday. Just in case I'm still in Lockport on those days, I want to make sure to wish these two special guys a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY! May your coming year be filled with all that is good. We love you very much!
Well, I'm committed to making that trip to Denver--I made the reservations last night and we'll be heading out on the 13th of April. We'll be there for 7 days and 6 nights, spending about half of the time at Josh's house and the other half at a hotel in Denver, centrally located so that we (Randi and I) can partake of some of the hot spots (yeah, right) of Denver while our kids are at work. Nice, huh? We'll try to take in a movie or two, eat out alone a couple of times, eat out with our kids a couple of times, and just have a great time. I'll be sure to take pictures so everyone can share our experience.
It's hot dogs and chili night tonight--chili is done, hot dogs won't take long, and we'll eat some of our left-over oven potatoes as the side dish. We haven't had hot dogs/chili in a while, so I know we'll enjoy that.
Jess e-mailed today to let me know when the PASSION PLAY at Holy Savior will be held--Wednesday of this week at 8:40am--and Rett is one of the narrators. I will definitely try to be there for that.
I am so sick and tired of being sick and tired that I made an appointment with my old doc while I'll be in Lockport. That is tomorrow at 4:40pm, and I pray that he will provide some insights as to why this cough just doesn't seem to go away. Thankfully, it isn't a constant cough, but it's bad enough to make me really tired.
Before going to the doctor, Randi and I have plans for the trip home. Since I didn't take her to Piccadilly's during this visit--and we ALWAYS go to Piccadilly's when she's here--we'll try to go to the one in Houma on our way to Lockport. It's a little off the track, but not so it will make a big difference in our time frame, so we'll do that--weather permitting.
Jess called after her doctor's appointment today; she has severe bronchitis and an ear infection, so she was given antibiotics AND cough medicine. She was also ordered to stay home until at least Thursday or Friday, so she has to be pretty sick. And, all of you Moms know that it is virtually impossible to rest when you have little ones, and Channie keeps Jess very busy. Please say prayers that she improves with these medications.
Randi and I will leave pretty early tomorrow, so I'm not sure when I'll get back to my journal; however, I will do so as soon as I can. Until then, have a great week.
