Before I go any further, I must apologize to one of our daughters because I didn't mention something that happened when I went to Lockport this past week. So, here goes! When Jess found out that I was going to be in town for one night, she decided to cook a "pork chop dish" that both she and I really love; she rarely cooks that for her family, because she's the only one who eats it. I must say that it was delicious! I'm not too big on the pork chops themselves, although I did eat one, but that rice is out-of-this-world. Thanks for cooking that Jess; I appreciate the time and effort you put into it. I also didn't mention that Jan and I took a trip to Raceland to pick up some chicken for the boys. Doing that reminded me of the days when I was a young teen and we would go to the Frostop in Raceland and had to order "hot dogs without the bun" for Sandie! You read that correctly: we ordered HOT DOGS w/out the bun because she has never eaten bread in her life. When Jan and I went to Popeye's, we had to order TWELVE chicken LEGS, nothing else--just legs; I made sure to inquire as to the cheapest way to purchase that and we were told what to do, so...we ordered SIX 2-leg snacks boxes, which included a biscuit with each leg; therefore, we had TWELVE legs and twelve biscuits. Then, I also ordered some creamed potatoes with gravy on the side. Again, having to make such an odd order just brought me back to my youth. Today, we just pretty much stayed indoors because of the cold; however, we did attend Mass this afternoon, after which we decided to take a trip to NOT YOUR MAMA'S in Livonia. We walked out of church with Bess, so we invited her to come along. She agreed and we told her to park her car at W/M's so she could ride with us. Fortunately, we did not forget to pick up her car on the way back. (This is sort of a family joke.) Once again, NYM's gives more food than a person can eat, so we came home with lots of left-overs--fried fish for Sid, grilled fish for me, crawfish nachos/cheese sticks for Randi. Bess also brought back some of her meal, some kind of fish with a topping of crawfish and side of green beans with a baked potato. The prices have gone up a little, but the amount of food is still a lot. Our waiter was excellent and he was very attentive to our needs. We are now home for the evening. Oh, Carly's team won their games today, so they will be playing again tomorrow morning. They won their second game by a score of 54-4; hard to imagine that, isn't it? Carly played half of one game and a lot in the other, stealing the ball and even scoring a couple of times. Way to go, Carly! Just in case I don't get to my computer tomorrow, I want to make sure to wish Jess a HAPPY BIRTHDAY for the 10th. Dad and I hope you have a wonderful day, Jess, and that you receive all things good that day and all year long. We love you very much! That's it for tonight! Have a great evening and a wonderful Sunday. My quote today is rather long, but beautiful, so there will be no extra note. Just read it and recognize the truth of this poem. It's absolutely beautiful, and it can make your life so pure, so filled, so limitless in what you can enjoy. HEARTFELT BLESSING: "There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer; no disease that enough love will not heal; no door that enough love will not open; no gulf that enough love will not bridge; no wall that enough love will not throw down; no sin that enough love will not redeem...It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble, now hopeless the outlook, how muddled the tangle, how great the mistake--a sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all...if only you could love enough, you would be the happiest and most powerful being in the world." --Emmet Fox |
