Miss Teen made a 93 on her AP history test last week! She had been failing so this will help. Her boyfriend spent two nights here, helping her read the assignments. Tomorrow and Wednesday are mid-terms and the history test will run both days for 20% of her total semester grade. Since Boyfriend has gone back to college, I guess I'll be the designated reader for a couple of nights. We've spent years trying to overcome her reluctance/inability/frustration with reading. Nothing has worked. She's not dyslexic; at least not in any traditional way. Bless her heart, she's so pleased with herself when she brings up a failing grade - and her grades in chemistry, algebra and other "non-reading" courses are good - it's hearbreaking to see her agonize over something I find so easy.
