same old, same old. Danny received his last disability check two weeks ago. That leaves only my monthly SS check to live on. Fortunately, he was told today that within 4 to 6 weeks, his SS disability will start and on an even better note, his retirement funds should be deposited about the same time. My check this month is $200 short because of a screw-up by the govt. in Oct. and Nov. Maybe I should try to get some food stamps - no way will we have enough to make it through the month. Gas is $2.95 here and I have doctor appts. in San Marcos and San Antonio this week and next. Maybe I can borrow from my brother until our funds (our ship?) come in? I skipped the cancer treatment last week and don't think I'm going back. I don't believe I needed chemo anyway. The neurosurgeon says there's nothing wrong with my back to cause the leg pains and that they may be related to the cancer. And here I thought I'd gotten by with almost no side effects. That'll show me, I guess. Miss Teen, a 16-year-old hs jr., is failing AP American History. I'm not sure today's meeting between her teacher and us was very fruitful. Basically, she has to read a whole lot, her least favorite activity. If someone (who, me?) would read the text to her, she'd do great. I sure do hope others are starting out their new year much better than I am. |
