Jay and Monica visit!

It seems we've been eating out even more than usual over the past few days.  You know we went to DON's on Saturday using one of our special coupons.  On Monday, we went to bring our car in for servicing and had lunch at CRACKER BARREL.  Today, we just went completely overboard in the "eating out" department--Randi and I had to go to SAM's to pick up stuff to bring back home tomorrow, so we had lunch at Piccadilly's (more on that in a minute) and tonight, we took my nephew, Jeremy, and his girlfriend, Monica, out to eat at NOT YOUR MAMA's.  Time to settle in and start eating more at home meals!

Randi and I made a successful trip to SAM's this morning, followed by a trip to Cortana Mall to eat at Piccadilly's.  While we were standing in line to select our food, I heard a voice call my name.  Turning around, I saw a familiar face, but I honestly couldn't place the name until a minute or two later--it was Dwon, a young lady who had a special place in our hearts many years ago.  She was there with her Mom and her son and just happened to be there at the same time we were.  We invited them to share our table, and they accepted, so we had time to have a really nice visit with them.  I hadn't seen Dwon in years, so seeing her and actually being able to visit with her was a special treat.

After we came home, I had a visit from my SIL, Martha Anne, telling me that she was going to church to "schedule" some Masses for my Dad.  We discussed dates, and she left, returning later with the info about the Masses scheduled.  Having Masses said for our deceased relatives and friends is something that we Catholics do often, and Mom is especially diligent about doing that every year, so I know she will be very pleased to hear about the Masses scheduled by MA.

Later on, Jeremy and Monica arrived here at the Cottage.  We showed them around the property (couldn't go for a ride because the rain came down just as they arrived), but we did get to show them the Cottage and let them look at the property from the porch.  We really wanted them to be able to take a ride to the back, but that was impossible.

As I mentioned in last night's entry, Jay is rather particular (yes, Jay, I know you've improved in this area), so we decided to go to NOT YOUR MAMA'S for supper.  It poured down while we were in there, but we managed to be able to get out without too much rain hitting us.  As you might remember, this restaurant's prices are pretty good, and the quantity of food served is unbelievable.  Monica and Jay took home a box of left-overs; Sid, Randi, and I took home FOUR boxes--three with fish and one with baked potatoes and rolls.  Sid will have plenty enough food to take care of him while I'm in Lockport for the next couple of days.

Tomorrow we head to Bayou Lafourche--I have an appointment tomorrow and Mom has one on Thursday.  I hope BOTH of them occur on time and don't last too long.  I intend to return here right after bringing Mom back to her house on Thursday, and I don't like arriving here after dark, especially if the rain continues.  YUCK!

Sid is back at school today, with the kids in the classroom.  We didn't get a chance to talk about it too much, but I'm sure things went along smoothly, or he would have said something.  Right?  Right!

That's it for tonight!  Please keep Jeremy and Monica in your prayers for a safe return to Los Angeles.  They will be visiting more family tomorrow and are leaving for California in a couple of days.  God speed to both of them; it was really fun visiting with them and enjoying our meal tonight.
