Tonight's entry will be short, I promise. Nothing much to report, so I will take advantage of that fact and just relax this evening instead of writing. See, I've already put up a bunch of words just for the sake of letting you know that I WON'T be writing much. Silly, huh? Several items of interest: First of all, Randi and I went to the new Super Wal Mart in Brusly to finish up my Christmas shopping--and we did! Yay!!!! I even got a little something for Mom, even though I do have something else in mind for her when we go to Lockport next time. On our way to the W/M store, we had breakfast at Waffle House. The food there is always good, but the atmosphere is definitely lacking. Our waitress today, though, was excellent, so it was worth the trip. Secondly, when I got home, I called Hospice to get some current info on Dad. The nurse who will be tending to him called me after I left a message, and I can tell you that I got a VERY prompt reply. She asked what I thought of Dad's condition when I saw him last, and I told her that he had eaten a few grapes and had sipped a little bit of broth. Other than that, he was the same. Carla, his nurse, spoke of the problems in treating patients with Alzheimer's in that they have good days and bad days, with bad days getting more frequent and worse. She was pleased to hear that he had eaten a little, even though she didn't like the fact that he was eating grapes alone in his room and lying in a flat position--very dangerous, of course. The soup, though, she was very happy about, and the fact that Dad had been in a wheel chair also added to the good news. She assured me that we can call at any time for news about Dad, so I felt pretty good about that. Thirdly, I made Mom's appointment with her cardiologist, Dr. Walker. I have an appointment during the second week of January, so I made her appointment for the same week. It will work out just fine. That's it for tonight! Have a great evening and a super week!
